My passion for the beauty industry began at a young age, inspired by my grandmother, who spent 30 years as the Cosmetics Manager at Walgreens. Following in her footsteps, I landed my first job at the cosmetic counter at just 16 years old. I was fascinated by the endless products and brands available, each promising to enhance confidence and self-expression.
At 18, I explored the world of modeling, signing with Page Parkes Modeling Agency in Houston, TX. While I enjoyed the experience, I soon realized that fashion alone wasn’t my calling. Instead, promotional modeling introduced me to global brands and tradeshowssuch as Ford Motors, Bio-Engineered Supplements & Nutrition, Lean Body, Hawaiian Tropic, E! Entertainment, Crown Royal, and Miller Lite. For over a decade, I immersed myself in the fitness and beauty industries, working with Muscle & Fitness Magazine, Houston-based publications, Hawaiian Tropic calendars, and even serving as an official ring girl for Brown Boxing Inc.
But as the industry evolved, so did I. When Hawaiian Tropic’s founder sold the business, marking the end of its iconic international pageants, I embraced a new adventure as a flight attendant with Continental Airlines. Traveling the world was exhilarating, but after the merger with United Airlines, I was ready for yet another transformation.
In 2010, I co-founded a medical spa in Sugar Land, TX, within my stepfather’s cosmetic dental practice. This was where my business acumen and passion for aesthetics truly merged. I spent two years mastering skincare, treatments, lasers, and injectables—laying the foundation for my next career move.

I was soon recruited by Dermalogica as a Business Consultant, calling on spas, salons, esthetic schools, and specialty retailers like Ulta, Massage Heights, and Hand & Stone. I thrived in this role, breaking company records by opening the most new accounts within 12 months while simultaneously expanding existing business. My expertise led me to advisory boards and allowed me to mentor esthetic students, where I developed a retail sales training program called “Rock Your Retail” to help professionals maximize their sales potential.
In 2014, I joined ZO Skin Health as a Senior Account Executive, helping launch ZO Skin Health and ZO Medical into plastic surgeons and dermatologists. My ability to drive sales and mentor others earned me a promotion to Regional Sales Director within a year, where I led and developed a high-performing team. Leadership had always been a goal of mine, and I took pride in helping my team surpass their sales targets, achieve financial success, and grow professionally.
Then came 2020—the year that tested us all. The global pandemic brought uncertainty, but it also reinforced my resilience. I remained fearless in the face of change, pivoting my leadership approach to keep my team motivated. That same year, I was honored as a Distinguished Young Alumni from the University of Houston and transitioned into a new role as Regional Sales Manager at Pierre-Fabre Group, representing Glytone and Avène. Here, I led a team that thrived despite the challenges of the pandemic, launched a national accounts program, and re-entered the retail space, collaborating once again with Walgreens.
After Pierre-Fabre’s corporate restructuring, I embraced an opportunity in clinical dermatology with Aquaphor and Eucerin, managing a team of medical sales representatives across the Central and Midwest regions. Under my leadership, my team increased their recommendation scores and finished as the #1 region for 2023.
Now, in 2024, I’ve come full circle, combining my passion for aesthetics and wellness as a National Sales Manager with VitaMedica—the industry leader in pre- and post-surgical recovery supplements. VitaMedica’s focus on recovery, clear skin, anti-aging, and everyday wellness aligns perfectly with my expertise, and I’m honored to be part of a company that empowers both patients and providers with high-quality nutraceuticals. As I help expand our sales team and brand, I remain dedicated to what I do best—mentoring, leading, and driving success in the world of aesthetics.

Jackie Castaneda has been available, affable and able throughout, not only the lecture series, but throughout my entire residency, which is imperative in the surgical field. She is committed to the ZO brand and is a perfect example of what ZO stands for. Now that I have completed residency and move forward into private practice, Jackie remains involved. I see the importance of having a strong skin care presence in plastic surgery and Jackie is still involved and maintains an active role as ZO skin care transitions into my private practice office. I am deeply appreciative for the education I have received from Jackie as well as the high-quality staff that stand behind its name.

The list of accomplishments that Jackie has achieved is extensive – and the list is true. What may not be as clear on paper (although it is immediately evident in real life) is what an incredible person Jackie is. She is enthusiastic, positive and a problem solver. Jackie does not just address the problem, she tackles it, solves it and makes it a new asset. She has an entrepreneurial spirit and a compassionate soul, which makes her a great leader. She is always pushing herself to the next level, which is why she went back to school to acquire her MBA. I would trust Jackie to achieve whatever goals are set for her – and then watch her surpass them regularly. That is the type of individual you are looking at.
I give my strongest recommendation to Mrs. Castaneda – she is highly professional, exhibits a go-getter attitude and delivers results. She has always followed through on each project we have worked on together, and I know she would be a credit to your company.

Although I have always believed that a solid understanding of skin care and aging is an integral part of a Plastic surgery education, it is certainly an area which is neglected in our formal training. I was introduced to Jackie early on in residency in 2014.
It was only through the dedication of Jackie as well as a few dedicated plastic surgeons that I was able to be repeatedly exposed to skin care. The consistent education I received through lectures series as well as patient demonstration sessions were invaluable in my 6 years of residency, and it is only because of that exposure that I now feel comfortable discussing aging as well as aesthetics with my patients as a plastic surgeon in private practice.

To Whom it May Concern,
By way of background, I have been employed in the Consumer Products/Dermatology facing industry in a Research & Development capacity for the last 35 years in Fortune 500 companies such as Johnson & Johnson and Procter & Gamble. Throughout that time, I have had the opportunity to work beside some of the most talented industry minds across various functional disciplines. In my capacity, there is a recurring need for me to engage the sales and marketing functions to offer product science training and education. In doing so, this has allowed me to accrue a granular basis for assessment as to the intellectual capacity of various individuals in sales and marketing discipline toward delineating high performers.
Congruent with the above, I have worked with Mrs. Castaneda as an interdependent partner for the last 4.5 years and can readily benchmark her skills, talent, and commitment based upon my accrued experiences. During that time, I have found her to be one the most passionately committed, intellectually sound, and an exceeding performer in her delivery of established business goals that rivals any I have encountered to date. Jackie’s unwavering commitment to developing and leading her field sales team toward excellence in the professional skincare channel is unsurpassed by any in our current organization and demonstrative of her leadership potential. I am also resolutely confident that she can serve as an invaluable asset to virtually any sales and marketing organization due to her proven adaptability to changing business dynamics and in the face of any competitive pressures. Jackie’s tenaciousness toward achieving her stretch business goals has been time proven, and her track record in achieving such is indisputable.
These attributes, combined with Jackie’s strong interpersonal and interdependent partnering skills, leads me to a firm opinion that she can exceed expectations within any company who elects to employ her. Her potential for leadership growth has also been elucidated herein. This affords the opportunity for any organization who employs Jackie to also value on a long-term basis in building their talent pool for succession.
I would be more than happy to elaborate on any particular discussed within this recommendation should you wish to do so by contacting me at the phone number provided above.

To Whom it May Concern,
It is my privilege to write this well deserved letter of recommendation for Jackie Castaneda- Regional Sales Director for ZO Skin Health. My name is Dr. Mark Khorsandi, and for the past 6 years I have known Jackie through my companies, ZO Skin Centre Houston and Dallas. She was my biggest advocate and the only reason I decided to form a partnership directly with Dr. Zein Obagi. She was a firm believer in the company she worked for and dedicated her time and resources to the highest level to ensure each location was a success.
With Jackie’s strong business acumen, servant leadership and attention to detail, she sold me the first two ZO Skin Centre locations globally as a franchise operation located Texas. It took three years of planning, and a lot of time and effort on both of our parts to get where we are today. Without Jackie’s guidance and support every step of the way, we would not be operating two successful locations in Texas. That same dedication and drive continued long after we opened, until the day the company eliminated her position due to extraneous circumstances outside anyone’s control, in a time of much uncertainty. I was surprised, and told the Executives of the company that they just lost their bestemployee! Jackie’s passion and dedication to greatness will never be replaced!
Jackie was dedicated, hard-working, knowledgeable, ambitious and competitive. She took pride in her work and her reputation. She successfully led her sales team of 12 Account Executives and 16 states while managing my 2 locations, she never skipped a beat! Just before she departed the company
she reviewed our sales for both locations year over year through June, and looked at our trajectory moving past 2020 and beyond despite a global pandemic, our business was up 78%, not to mention, Jackie was also top Regional Sales Director at the time she managed my locations. My staff and I have truly come to appreciate Jackie’s dedication, support, and professionalism in our business relationship. I recommend her without hesitation to any position in any medical industry with her knowledge and expertise. If I had to describe Jackie in three words or less; ambitious, competitive and outgoing are top of mind. She will be a huge asset to any organization lucky enough to have her.
Sincerely,
Dr. Mark Khorsandi

I have known Jackie Castaneda for at least 20 years now. We met in college and by chance, ended up in the same professional industry. She has always been someone that I looked up to. If there was a goal in her mind, she was always one to give it 100%. She has never had any kind of fear in reaching out for the big things in life. I always wanted to be that way but felt that I was lacking somehow.
Fast forward to a few years ago. I had just left a miserable job and Jackie and I were chatting about my next career move when she mentioned that I should go into nursing. It was always a dream of mine, but I had convinced myself that it was out of reach. I told myself all the lame things we say when something seems too hard. I also told her that I’m older now and that it would take too long to finish.
She then said something that still resonates with me, she said: “The time will pass anyway, might as well spend it doing something worthwhile.” She was right. That day, I enrolled in school for my nursing pre-requisite classes. I’m now in the process of beginning my nursing journey and I have her to thank. She has always motivated me when I needed a lift and encouraged me with her positivity.
I truly believe everyone needs a Jackie in their life

It is my pleasure and honor to write this letter of recommendation for Jackie Castaneda, Regional Sales Director for ZO Skin Health. I have worked under Jackie’s supervision for almost four years at ZO Skin Health, where she was my Regional Director and hiring manager. Jackie is without a doubt the best supervisor I have worked for. She is hard working, loyal, ambitious and team player to her company and team, and is an outstanding servant leader. Her ability to communicate with and inspire a very diverse and large team is one of the things I admire most about her. Regardless of the size of her 16-state region, she always had time for me. She scheduled bi-weekly 1:1’s and team call with 12 direct reports. Because of her leadership and guidance, I have been awarded Presidents Club, $1MM Club and Outstanding Achievements. Her motto is “Teamwork makes the dream work.”
Her position at ZO was very complex, and she was able to succeed because of her organization, drive, and willingness to work harder than anyone on her executive team. Jackie is known to be a consistent top producer within the organization. I admire that she is not afraid to roll up her sleeves and get in the trenches with her sales team and physician customers. No task is ever to big or small for her. She has the superpowers to multi-task while maintaining poise, grace and ethics. I remember when Jackie shared with us that she was going to back to school to get her MBA. It was in the summer 2017, the year ZO Skin Health decided to relocate warehouses to another state and execute a global rebrand in Q4 of 2017. All though times got extremely stressful for all of us, Jackie still managed to lead our team to greatness, despite the struggles we all faced.
Jackie decided to fast track her graduate studies due to the challenges our company faced so she could “get out” quicker and apply her newfound knowledge to help us survive. I remember her sharing some of her case studies with us, a favorite of mine was “Blue Ocean Strategy.” I remember that because it came in handy during challenging times. Jackie is known for leading high performing teams during change, challenge and chaos. Most recently, she has led us through another crisis, COVID-19. Jackie quickly implemented strategies for our team to make sure we never skipped a beat. I am so proud that our region was consistently ranked #1 in MTD sales and opened new accounts, despite a global pandemic exceeding 100% to goal.
I am proud to have been a part of her success, and I am excited to see what she accomplishes next. She will be a huge asset to any pharmaceutical or medical organization who is lucky enough to have her. No product is too big or small for Jackie, she is a motivational leader with exceptional customer satisfaction.
Sincerely,

To Whom May Concern,
I reported to Jackie Castaneda, Regional Sales Director, for the past four and a half years. She was new to management when I first started at ZO Skin Health. I had been in management for the past 8 years and had reservations about reporting to a brand-new manager.
Jackie grew immensely as a manager over the next several years taking development upon herself to acquire management training by going back to school to receive her Master of Business Administration.
I acquired many of the accounts that Jackie opened before I was hired as an Account Executive at ZO, and I was impressed at how many accounts she had opened in a relatively short period of time.
As I worked closely with her, I realized the strength she had in closing. She helped me close several accounts including a very large, influential Plastic Surgery practice that I had been working on for several years.
Jackie is also strong in business development skills and was a mentor to many of my accounts on social media platforms.
Jackie is a great communicator and a fair manager that was always available whenever she was needed.
I would highly recommend Jackie in any sales role or part of any sales management team.
